Marks and Spencer has revamped its cafe.

It has an additional 600 square feet of floor space and now has a total of 140 seats.

Some walls have been removed to make way for new windows, and better lighting has been installed.

The Douglas shop’s café opened in 2004.

Julie Hodgen, the store manager, said: ’Our M&S Douglas Café is consistently busy, with customers struggling to find seating during peak times. We listened to this feedback and when it came time to refurbish the Café, our customers’ experience, comfort and concerns were top of mind.

’Most of the renovation work was carried out through the night, to ensure minimal disruption for our loyal customers.’
