Douglas Mayor Jon Joughin has been helping to strengthen the twinning agreement between Douglas and Ballymoney, County Antrim.

He gave his support to the Armoy Road Races, held eight miles from Ballymoney, which saw celebrated TT winner Michael Dunlop win his eighth successive ’Race of Legends’ on his home circuit, only 16 days after breaking his pelvis at the Southern 100.

He was joined on the podium by runner-up Derek Sheils and Derek McGee who finished third.

The twinning relationship between Douglas and Ballymoney was formalised in 2006 and promotes cultural, educational and commercial links between the two towns.
