The Met Office has issued an amber weather warning for the Isle of Man today.

There will be a cold start with the risk of some icy patches on the upland roads.

Generally dry and bright with some sunshine this morning and just the chance of an isolated shower, then an increasing risk of a few more scattered showers mid to late afternoon.

Temperatures reaching only about 7 Celsius, with a mostly moderate west-northwest wind.

Further showers arriving overnight with a freshening wind from the northwest. Minimum temperature around 2°C.

There will be a mixture of bright or sunny intervals and scattered showers on Saturday, a few of the showers could be heavy in places with hail or sleet especially over high ground.

Rather cold with a fresh to strong northwest wind limiting temperatures to just 6 or 7°C at best.

It should soon become mostly dry on Sunday morning and then a little less breezy by the afternoon.

Temperatures slowly rising to 7 or 8°C later in the day before rain moves in at night.
