The Met Office has issued an amber weather warning.

There will be ice in some areas.

The forecast:

Today will be mostly dry with plenty of sunshine, but windy with a fresh to strong northerly wind. Highest temperature around 7°C at best, but feeling much colder in the wind.

A few showers will develop this evening, turning wintry over the hills, and becoming more frequent later in the night. A moderate to fresh northwest wind, with minimum temperatures generally near to 3°C, but close to freezing over the hills with the risk of ice.

Scattered wintry showers will continue to affect the island tomorrow, moving through on the moderate to fresh northwest wind, and gradually becoming isolated into the afternoon with highs of 7°C.

Sunday will be cloudy with outbreaks of rain for a time, gradually clearing during the evening. Breezy with a fresh to strong west to southwest wind and top temperature of 8°C.
