The Met Office has issued another amber weather warning.

Forecasters say there will be icy or wintry showers.

The forecast:

Today will be partly cloudy with some sunny intervals, but also the risk of some showers, which may be wintry at times, particularly later in the afternoon and evening. Still windy with a fresh to strong west to southwest wind and highs of 6 or 7°C.

Showers will largely clear overnight with some clearer skies, fresh to strong west or northwest winds will veer northerly early in the night with minimum temperatures of 3°C.

Outlook

Much of Friday will be dry with some sunshine, however after dusk scattered showers will start to develop, once again turning wintry especially over higher ground. Top temperature around 5 or 6°C with a fresh north to north-westerly wind.

Saturday will be fairly cloudy with scattered showers, moderate to fresh north-westerly winds and highs of 6°C.
