From talks about building mental strength and making positive changes to your life to boosting your body’s immune system by dunking yourself into a ice bath, the Mindful Mann day can be far from a relaxing affair.

After almost being cancelled for 2020, Mindful Mann returns this coming Saturday, from 9.30am.

Organised by mindfulness instructor Mike Kewley, the day, which takes place at the Children’s Centre community farm in Port Soderick, features a range of workshops, talks and events designed to help you make positive personal changes and to discover and find out more about ways to look after yourself, both physically and mentally.

The day will hear from key island-based speakers, as well as workshops held by yoga instructor Samantha Walker, from the Karma Yoga Studio and dynamic breathing coach Rosemary O’Donaghue, which helps to combat stress and release emotions.

’One of our guest speakers, Ian Kirk, is a Wim Hof instructor,’ said Mike.

’He is holding two sessions during the day, talking about things such as nutrition and breathing exercises and the benefit they can have on boosting mental health and wellbeing.

’He will also have an ice bath where people can try immersing themselves, which is also a good way of boosting your body.

’We will also have Dr Rodney King, who teaches mindfulness. He is ex-military and is actually a martial arts instructor who has helped train special forces soldiers. He is also a widely respected mindfulness teacher.

’Phil Quirk is an ex-marine who has helped to train Olympic athletes, and is a performance coach, as well as an NLP and hypnosis practitioner.

’There is a misconception that the Mindful Mann days are all about keeping still and being very restful,’ added Mike.

’They are actually about challenging you and actively changing your life in many varied ways.

’We are not just sat around "ohming" to ourselves.

’We are not having our usual range of family activities this year. We have instead decided to have a day where the adults can focus on themselves.’

Tickets for the day are £70, available through the Mindful Mann 2020 Facebook page.
