The Department of Infrastructure has confirmed that repair works are being carried out to a wall that was hit by a minibus.

Repairs are currently being undertaken to a wall at the foot of Barregarrow hill, between Ballacraine and Kirk Michael, following an incident which took place on Tuesday at around 2.30pm.

A minibus operated by Bus Vannin was travelling towards Kirk Michael when it connected with the wall, causing the wall to collapse.

A DoI spokesman said: ’The vehicle continued round the corner and stopped at the side of the road. All five occupants were uninjured and, following the arrival of another minibus, were able to complete their journey.

’Temporary traffic lights are in operation while repair works take place and will remain in place over the weekend.'
