A group of people who trained together for the Parish Walk raised £1,536 for the Ballamona Association for Mental Health.

They were assisted in their training by attending the weekly sessions run at the NSC outdoor track and last week they were there to present the association with their cheque.

Shaun Wyllie, physical activity coordinator at the NSC, said: ’The target of taking part in the Parish Walk really helped to motivate the group and they all had their own individual targets. Some did very well to reach Santon and one even managed the full 85 miles but more importantly they all enjoyed the benefits of regular exercise and now can’t wait to start training for the 2019 Parish Walk.’

Training at NSC athletic track for the 2019 Parish Walk is held every Wednesday at 6pm with coaches on hand to offer help and support.
