More than 20 Manx businesses have been honoured in the prestigious Great Taste Awards, with products ranging from Loaghtan sausages and smoked fish to sea salt, popcorn and artisan fudge recognised.

Among the winners were Billy Boy Limited, Geo. Devereau & Son, Ballacosnahan Farm, Lush Bakes, Isle of Man Salt Co, The Fish Market @ Robinsons, Isle of Man Meats, PopCornaa, Jan Browns and Viva Cento, with awards spanning products including biltong, Manx Loaghtan charcuterie and sausages, kippers, smoked salmon and sea trout, bacon, meatballs, popcorn, rusks, fudge, olive oil and seasonings.

Products are judged through a rigorous blind-tasting process by panels of chefs, food writers, retailers and industry experts, with entries assessed solely on taste.

This year, more than 15,000 products from 116 countries were entered, with just 6,188 receiving a Great Taste Award and 4,286 earning a one-star rating. Organised by the Guild of Fine Food, the awards are widely regarded as one of the world's most respected food and drink accreditation schemes.

Among the island's biggest successes was Lush Bakes, which once again earned international recognition after receiving three one-star Great Taste Awards for its Lemon Meringue Fudge, Eton Mess Fudge and Karoo Rusks.

The latest accolades bring Lush Bakes' total to 12 industry awards in just three years. Previous honours include six Great Taste one-star awards across 2024 and 2025, Manx Menu Food Product of the Year in 2025, and silver and bronze awards at the UK Quality Food Awards.

Founder Wynand Noortman said: 'We're overjoyed to have Lemon Meringue Fudge, Eton Mess Fudge and Karoo Rusks recognised by Great Taste. From our commercial kitchen on the Isle of Man, we've focused on celebrating Manx ingredients and small-batch craft.

'These awards, and the continued support from our local suppliers and customers, mean everything to our team.'

The award-winning products are available from independent retailers across the Isle of Man, including Robinson's Fresh Foods, Tynwald Mills Deli, Mostly Manx, Woodbourne Deli, Glen Helen Farm Shop, Little Meadow Farm Shop and the Isle of Man Steam Packet ferries.

Isle of Man Salt Co, founded by Helen Crosbie in 2021, also celebrated success after receiving a two-star Great Taste Award for its sustainable sea salt.

Mrs Crosbie said: 'We're so pleased to be recognised with a two-star award. It means the world to our little business and helps massively with our goal of reaching more UK buyers through independent and family-owned farm shops and delis. The judges said they were "drawn in by the appearance, then captivated by the aroma".'

She added: 'A huge thank you to everyone who supports our little business.'

Ballacosnahan Farm, trading as Manx Loaghtan Produce, was another standout performer, collecting a total of nine stars.

In a post online, the business said: 'Our brilliant team got a total of nine stars. All of you who say our sausages are amazing - you're right! We entered both our Loaghtan Garlic & Rosemary Sausages and Loaghtan Chorizo Sausages for the first time and both got two stars. In the three years of entering we have got a total of 22 stars - not bad for a small farm.'
