The Mountain Road is closed between Creg ny Baa and Lheaney Road Ramsey because of ice and snow.

Police said deteriorating conditions sparked the decision to shut the road.

Officers were also dealing with a collision at Brandywell a short time earlier.

Here’s this morning’s weather forecast: Cloudy and very cold again, with some outbreaks of light snow at first, but these will die out later in the morning to leave dry conditions for the rest of the day. Any accumulations of snow will be small. The strong easterly winds will ease through the day, becoming moderate or fresh in many places, with the maximum temperature 3 Celsius. Also, large waves will again break on to exposed promenades at high tide.Today's high tide is expected at 12.07pm.

’Tonight will start dry, but later a little patchy rain, sleet and snow may develop. Then tomorrow will be cloudy and dull with some outbreaks of rain and drizzle, as snow becomes increasingly confined to the hill tops. Less cold with temperatures reaching 5 or 6 Celsius, in fresh easterly winds.
