The Mountain Road will remain closed overnight.

The decision comes after the police consulted with the Department of Infrastructure,

A police spokeman said: ’The condition of the Mountain Road is still too dangerous to allow for public use.

’The closure overnight will also be necessary to allow DoI service vehicles to carry out an extensive clean-up operation during the morning hours prior to any races commencing.

’If you are travelling tonight, or early tomorrow morning, please make alternative arrangements and take alternative routes.’

At 8.45am tomorrow it will be handed over to TT Race Control for Senior Race Day.
