A series of evening closures along the Mountain Road will begin this week to allow for essential verge cutting and hedge trimming works ahead of the Classic TT and Manx Grand Prix.
The Department of Infrastructure (DoI) has confirmed that temporary closures are required to improve road safety and prepare the A18 Mountain Road ahead of the two major road racing events.
The northern section of the route, between Barrule Park in Ramsey and the Bungalow, will close from 6.30pm until no later than 10.30pm on Wednesday and Thursday (August 5 and 6).
The southern section, between the Bungalow and the Creg Ny Baa Back Road, will then close during the same evening hours on Friday (August 7), Monday (August 10) and Tuesday (August 11).
The DoI said the works are ‘required for both general road safety and the upcoming Manx Grand Prix and Classic TT road race meetings’.
Access to the Bungalow area, including the Victory Cafe, will be maintained throughout all closure periods via the Tholt Y Will Road.
