There will be multiple road closures along the Glen Helen road next week.

The road will be closed daily from February 21 to February 25 between Ballig Bridge and the southern side of Glen Helen for road marking.

Glen Helen will be accessible from the north and businesses there will be operating as normal.

Signs will be at Douglas Road Corner diverting traffic via the A4 Peel to Kirk Michael Coast Road. The closure times have been designed to not affect commuter traffic and school buses.

At the same time, contractors for the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture will cut down trees in the area.

There will be daytime temporary traffic lights on Creg Willey’s Hill for part of the week. There will also be some tree felling between Ballig and Glen Helen.

The DoI will also be resurfacing the road in the vicinity of the 11th Milestone from February 21 for up to a week. While this work is underway there will be temporary two-way traffic lights in place.

Meanwhile, from February 19 until no later than February 27, Dandara Homes will excavate the carriageway on Douglas Road in Kirk Michael to connect its new development situated off the road to the existing drainage and utility services
