It won’t be just fine food and wine on offer at this weekend’s Isle of Man Food Festival, held in the Villa Marina gardens.
There will also be a line up of Manx rock and folk groups, along with a display of Manx folk dancing from some of the island’s traditional groups.
Acoustic performers make up the bulk of the entertainment throughout the afternoon on Saturday.
After the Meraki Choir open the on-stage proceedings, singers Adam Melvin, Eugene Wilson, Lee Brooks and the acclaimed singer songwriter Jeff Jepson taking turns on the stage.
The evening’s music will be provided by a line of groups, including acoustic rockers The Birds and the Beards on from 5pm, and followed by rock *’ roll tribute act Shoddywaddy at 6.30pm.
The evening will be finished off with a rare performance from Truman Falls, who will be on stage from 8pm.
The Roc Vannin choir open the proceedings on Sunday morning, welcoming the crowds back to the Villa, before the entertainment takes on a more traditional flavour.
Folk dancers from Ny Fennee, Perree Bane and the young movers from Skeddan Jiarg will perform from midday until 2.15pm, and the musicians from the Bree youth traditional music workshops will take over.
The festival will then be brought to a close by the eclectic folk-pop group the Mollag band.
There will also be the longest bar of Manx ales and ciders ever assembled. There will be a selection of 28 different brews on offer from The Hooded Ram, Bushy’s, Okell’s, Old Laxey Brewing Co and the Manx Cider Co.
Tickets for the festival cost £4 per day and £5 for the weekend for adults, with admis
sion free for under 16s.
There is free admission after 6pm for the rest of the evening to those who haven’t attended during the Saturday daytime.
