A local blues guitarist will throw the spotlight on his latest album at the same time as hosting a concert of fellow musicians.

’Blue’ John Gregory is hosting ’Acoustic Mann’, a night featuring music from five different acoustic guitarists, which will take place at the Peel Centenary centre on Saturday, March 13, from 7.30pm.

John, who plays traditional delta-style country blues, will headline the night, alongside singer and guitarist Babs Killey, who will perform a blend of folk and comedy songs.

Adrian Cowin and Peter Corkill will also perform, as will Peel-man Chris Killey, making his debut on the Centenary Centre main stage.

John will be putting a lot of focus on his latest album, ’Country Blues Crusader’ during the night.

Released late last year, the seven-track album, featuring John’s versions of classic blues standards by the likes of Mississippi John Hurt and Big Bill Broonzy was recorded at Ballagroove studios in Ballasalla and published by Southern State Records.

A limited edition CD version of the album will be available to buy on the night, along with John’s previous album, ’Ballablues’.

Tickets for the night are £10, available from Celtic Gold, in Peel, Shakti Mann in Ramsey, Thompson Travel in Port Erin and GH Corletts in Douglas, as well as online from etickets.im/bjm
