What is your idea of a perfect meal?
Having been a useless cook in my teens I felt the need for better than Pot Noodles. Favourite food has to be Thai or Malaysian and spicy!
What is your favourite way to relax?
I can’t be doing with sitting around too long so curiously I love wild swimming, with the front of Peel Castle being fun when it’s choppy.
What is your greatest extravagance?
Making fresh coffee for work every day.
Do you have any pets?
Two cats. Those on social media might be aware.
What is your greatest achievement?
Completing a mini-triathlon and playing rugby within a year of having meningitis, having been told I might as well forget sports.
What is your favourite time of the year?
TT fortnight undoubtedly. I love the atmosphere, the visitors, the Isle in all its’ glory for everyone to see.
What is the first job you ever had?
I worked on exploratory oil rigs off Wick and Great Yarmouth as a Roustabout (general dogsbody).
Do you have any irrational fears?
That I haven’t done enough in life this time around.
What is your worst habit?
Turning the lights off! I do it at friends’ houses too, much to their dismay.
What is your favourite book?
’Adventures of a Waterboy’, by Mike Scott.
What is your favourite TV programme?
I’ve not had a TV for nearly nine years, but my absolute favourite series would have to be The Thick of It.
What is your favourite band/artist at the moment?
Rival Sons, from San Diego. It has been a while since I went to a gig and smiled all the way through. But the best band in the world The Waterboys!
What is your favourite part of the Isle of Man?
The south. I love the view from Glen Chass down over Perwick Bay and love swimming there. I also find The Sound to be spectacular all year around. My father always insisted in a house with a view of the sea, having sailed most of his life, and some of that has rubbed off.
What is the last show/band that you saw live?
The Saw Doctors on their return to gigging over at the Olympia in Dublin back in March.
If time/money were no object, what would be your perfect day?
To go and see a NYE gig somewhere far away but still be back in time for the New Year dips.
Choose three people, dead or alive, to invite to dinner?
Alan Partridge because then I wouldn’t be the most socially awkward person at the table. Chrissie Hynde because she’d perk up the party and naturally be outrageously rock *’ roll, and Prince, because I would want to discover more of his genius and, as he’d probably be a fussy eater, there will be more to go round.
