An exciting and unique musical virtuoso is to hold a concert in the west of the island next week.

Classical concert violinist Bogdan Vacarescu will perform at the Peel Centenary Centre, on Saturday, February 29, from 7.30pm.

Originally from Romania, Bogdan is a world-renowned violin player that has attracted fans from around the globe with his individual and contemporary approach to performing classical music.

A graduate of the Conservatoire of Music in Bucharest and the Royal Academy of Music in London, he has performed with many of the world’s top classical musicians, including fellow virtuoso Nigel Kennedy, and as a member of his own groups, String Dimensions.

Bogdan has also performed high-level concerts in the Sydney Opera House, Bucharest, Romanian National Radio Hall, The United Nations Concert Hall in New York, Paris and the Kings Place in London.

He also previously appeared in Peel in February 2017 alongside the critcally acclaimed pianist, Julian Jacobson, who will be joing him again next week.

He is also no stranger to performing music form other genres.

In 2017 he released his album ’Violins and Piano Thrillers’, recorded alongside Jacobson, and he also has recorded with the Australian group The Cat Empire and the world music group She’Koyokh.

He also has his own group, the Balkan folk-inspired group Paprika and perfroms with the band Graffiti Classics.
