This mysterious object appeared on the foreshore at Derbyhaven and residents are keen for it to be removed.

The object - dubbed the ’Derbyhaven lying saucer’ - suddenly appeared last November. It measures about three feet across and is thought to weigh half a ton.

There has been no evidence of alien activity, no strange lights, tiny aliens or apparent attempts to probe locals said Carl Wild, who lives there, and residents would like to see it removed.

But nor has there been evidence of any activity at the Department of Infrastructure’s harbours division, on whose land it sits.

Malew Commissioners’ clerk Barry Powell said he got in touch with the department when it first appeared as they have the responsibility and the equipment to remove it. Why they haven’t done so is yet another mystery.
