An exhibition which features works of art inspired by the Manx countryside and the surrounding environment has re-opened to the public.

The Art of Nature exhibition was organised in conjunction with Manx Wildlife Trust, Manx National Heritage and Mannin Art and originally opened at the House of Manannan, Peel, at the beginning of March, earlier this year.

But not long after the display was opened, the House of Manannan was forced to close its doors due to the sweeping coronavirus restrictions.

The exhibition features more than 100 works of art from many top Manx artists, including Michael Starkey, Dr Jeremy Paul, Gavin Carter, Sally Black, Petrina Kent, Catherine James and many more.

CEO of Manx Wildlife Trust, Leigh Morris, said: ’We are delighted that the House of Manannan has been able to re-open its doors again allowing the public to visit the free Art of Nature exhibition we have jointly produced with Manx National Heritage.

’A great deal of work by keen MWT volunteers like Jean Buck had gone into producing the exhibition of artworks by island-based artists and inspired by Manx wildlife and landscapes.

’It was a huge disappointment that the exhibition closed due to the Covid-19 restrictions only one week after it opened in March this year.

’People are now able to view the exhibition both online and in person as well as purchase the original artworks.

’Proceeds from all sales will raise much needed funds for both MWT and the MNH Biodiversity Fund, ensuring that every penny will go towards helping Manx wildlife for the future.

’I have been amazed by the standard of the 100-plus artworks submitted and it’s good to know people will once again have an opportunity to view them. I encourage all to visit!’

Art From Nature is free to view at the House of Manannan everyday, between 10am to 4pm, until September 13.
