Wellness, a new model for island healthcare, is the topic of a public meeting in Douglas on Monday night.
The meeting, hosted by the Positive Action Group, will be at the Manx Museum theatre, Kingswood Grove, Douglas, starting at 7.30 pm.
It’s PAG’s eighth and final public meeting of the political year.
Four invited speakers will each give a seven minute presentation about various aspects of healthcare in the island.
Nigel Taylor, of Jurby Wellness, will outline the legal support for patient autonomy and fully informed consent.
Gordon Wilson, managing director of Callin Wild Consulting, will consider healthcare affordability, Manx agriculture and ’food is medicine’ opportunities.
Jurby Wellness founder Courtenay Heading will highlight how our body serves us if we feed it well and avoid the toxins to which we are increasingly subject.
Six months in post, Health and Social Care Minister David Ashford MHK will give an update on his vision for healthcare and outline what he aims to achieve in this Parliament and beyond.
Following the presentations the audience will be invited to contribute to a panel discussion.
As usual the event is free and is open to all.
