As mentioned here last week, one of our local bands, In The Blood, has just released their debut single ’The Delay Has Arrived’.
You can find further info on their Facebook page.
Another regular on the Manx live scene is Ian Thompson and he also just happens to have released his next album which is also his debut release for the U.S-based Spectra Music Group.
Featuring 13 tracks, ’New World’ brings together some previously released tracks alongside some new offerings, recorded in recent months. Influence-wise, think along the lines of Glenn Tilbrook and Paul McCartney with a smattering of Jeff Lynne and you’re in the right ballpark.
As usual Ian and his band are out and about playing shows each weekend in and around the island including a stop off at Jaks in Douglas from 9.45 tomorrow night.
To keep up to date with everything relating to Ian and the band and to find out where you can purchase or download a copy of ’New World’, please visit Ian’s Facebook page.

Joined by Mark Brabbs on drums, Robbie Sampson on bass along with guitarist Kev Cleator of Ed Force One and DC/AC fame, Mae lists her influences from Queen, Oasis, KT Tunstall and Joni Mitchell to Coldplay, Train, James Morrison, Skrillex, Bruno Mars and Emeli Sande.
It all kicks off from 8.30pm.Head across town on Saturday night and to Jaks where The Chris Winchester Band will hit the stage from just before 10pm.
The band that features a line-up completed by Chris Winchester on guitar and vocals, Paul Tonks on keys and vocals, Pete Dixon on bass and vocals and Andy James on drums play a set that features Contemporary acoustic covers from the likes of Ed Sheeran and Coldplay amongst many others.
