A new clothes shop has opened downstairs in the old Woolworths building on Strand Street in Douglas.

Pep & Co was opened on Friday by Douglas mayor Debbie Pitts and mayoress Linda Curphey.

The store which offers a full range of women’s, men’s and kids’ fashion - opened inside sister company Dealz.

The Woolworths store in Douglas closed for the final time on December 29, 2008.

Dealz, who are part of the Poundland group, took over the ground floor of the premises, opening in December 2011.

Since February 2017, Pep & Co has opened over 35 shop-in-shops in Poundlands across the UK.

The retailer plans to open an additional 50 shop-in-shops at Poundland over 42 days later this year.
