This morning’s 8am Steam Packet sailing from Douglas to Heysham has been cancelled.

The Ben-my-Chree is staying in port because of the windy weather.

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for heavy rain and gales.

The forecast:

Wet and very windy today, heavy rain is likely to cause some localised flooding and the southeast wind will increase gale or severe gale, the rain will clear early tonight as the wind settles to the west or southwest and begins to moderate. Temperatures for much of the day will be no more than 5 or 6 Celsius but it will turn milder during the evening.

Much of tomorrow will be dry and bright but rain may develop for a time during the afternoon, the wind will fall to a light southwesterly, temperatures around 8 or 9 Celsius.

Dry and bright on Monday but it will turn wet and windy again during Monday evening and Monday night.
