Peel Coastguard has confirmed it was involved in a counter pollution effort in the harbour today.
The coastguard’s Facebook were called to the harbour at about 1.40pm this afternoon.
Volunteers deployed absorbing booms in the harbour due to a report of an oily film on the water.
Its post said: ’As the flap gate was up a boom was placed across the fish pass to catch the film as it passed through. The harbour will be monitored for any more possible oil.’
