Laa Columb Killey, the Arbory parish festival, is due to be held on Thursday, June 28 from 3pm onwards.

The event, held in the field opposite Arbory School will be opened by the Lieutenant Governor Sir Richard Gozney.

Following the opening, Miss Poppy Irving will be crowned the Laa Columb Killey Princess.

During the afternoon, there will be a craft tent and a display of vintage vehicles.

Arbory School children will also be performing some traditional Manx dancing.

Organisers say one of the highlights of the afternoon will be the exhibition tent.

This will be full of craft work, food produce and delicious home baking. The tea tent then opens at 4pm.

During the evening, there will be a variety of sports events held.

The junior events start from 4.30pm and the adults, including a five mile run will begin from 7pm.

There are also competitions to decide the best garden, scarecrow and baked goods.

Entries for the garden and scarecrow competitions should be made before the day.

The following evening on Friday, June 29, Arbory School, along with Laa Columb Killey, will be holding a ceili with the Tarroo Marroo Ceili Band from 6.30pm.
