A new patient transfer service will be launched on Monday next week as a trial scheme.
The Patient Transfer Office at Noble’s Hospital has teamed up with Bus Vannin to pilot the new service for people who need to travel off-Island for a healthcare appointment.
Patients who live in the north of the island and currently have their on-island travel funded by the Department of Health and Social Care will be picked up at home and taken to Isle of Man Airport or the Sea Terminal by minibus.
The service will start at 5am each day and enable patients on the earliest departures to arrive in plenty of time to catch their flight or sailing.
Minibuses will connect with the return flights and ferries at the end of the day.
If the pilot proves successful, the service will be extended to all patients, and their travelling companions, across the island in September.
