Payment of any outstanding amounts for 2019/20 personal tax assessments and 2020/21 payment on account notices are due on January 6 .

The government advised: ’If you received your personal tax assessment or payment on account notice any time after December 6, you will have 30 days from the date of the notice to make payment.

’Please bear in mind that the processing of assessments is likely to take longer than in previous years because of the impact of the coronavirus pandemic earlier in the year.

’There are several ways to pay tax bills, including an online service payment facility which allows people to avoid potentially large queues at the Income Tax Division office as the payment date approaches.’

Anyone who is interested can register for government online services at: www.gov.im/onlineservices and then follow the links to enrol for tax services.

Assistance in completing the process can be provided either in person at the Income Tax Division office or by calling 685400.
