The live exploits of a UK Indie group with a Manx core have earned them a nomination for a prestigious national music award.
The Brighton-based four-piece Penelope Isles, featuring Manx brother and sister Jack and Lily Wolter, have been included in the shortlist for the award for best live band in the AIM Independent Music Awards.
The nomination comes after spending 2019 relentlessly playing gigs, tours and festivals across the UK, Europe and America in support of their debut album, ’Until The Tide Creeps In’.
The award is decided by a public vote and they are up against stiff competition from the likes of the Darkness, Sleaford Mods, The Editors and more.
’We’re so very happy to be nominated for the AIM independent music award,’ said Jack.
’It’s an honour to be nominated alongside Bombay Bicycle Club and The Darkness.
’We take our live show really seriously and feel very chuffed to be up for the award!
’Get us to the red carpet and vote for us!’
The competition deadline is Monday, June 29, and you can cast your vote via independentmusic. typeform.com
Penelope Isles have also recorded a song for the online Glastonbury festival, set to take place this weekend.
The group were set to appear at the Williams Green Stage this Sunday.
