One hundred copies of the picture book ’M is for Manx Cat!’ have been presented to Noble’s Hospital’s children’s ward.

Copies of the book, written by Gemma Hjerth and illustrated by Kim Gee, have been donated to the ward by the Appleby Charitable Foundation.

M is for Manx Cat! is an informative and interactive picture book all about the Isle of Man. The book gives readers the opportunity to practise the alphabet and spot iconic Isle of Man attractions.

Caren Pegg, dispute resolution tartner at Appleby and member of the foundation, said: ’Books are so important for children’s learning and development.

’When we were approached to provide support, the decision to donate these books to the children’s ward was an easy one. We hope the children get a lot of enjoyment from them.’

The ACF donates more than £12,000 to charitable causes on the island each year.

Author and publisher Gemma Hjerth added: ’We are so grateful that the Appleby Charitable Foundation was able to purchase and donate copies of the book to the children’s ward.’
