Planners have refused an application for staff accommodation at Arragon House, in Santon.

Allen and Marion Lloyd applied (17/01205/B) for a building to provide two staff residential units and office

accommodation with landscaping and parking.

Turning down the bid, planners said the site was not designated for development and the scale of the proposed works would ’adversely affect the character of the area’.

In addition, planners said the proposal would result in unsustainable development, increasing the number and distance of vehicle movements.

A previous larger scheme for staff accommodation was also turned down (16/00258/B).
