Turning down the bid, planners said the site was not designated for development and the scale of the proposed works would ’adversely affect the character of the area’.
In addition, planners said the proposal would result in unsustainable development, increasing the number and distance of vehicle movements.
A previous larger scheme for staff accommodation was also turned down (16/00258/B).
