Plans have been submitted for 45 homes in Peel.
Dandara Homes Ltd has applied (17/00992/B) to planners for the estate in four fields and part of an agricultural machinery yard off Oak Road.
The site, on land zoned for predominantly residential use in the Peel Local Plan, is bordered on three sides by homes.
In the planning statement it explains: ’The scheme will accommodate a mix of three bed semi-detached and two or three bed terraced dwellings, including affordable housing.
’This will include dwellings with dormers and rooflights to allow a third floor of accommodation, which will help to introduce visual variety into the street scene.
’This will be further enhanced by the range of finishes and detailing on the dwellings.’
The homes will have rear gardens and the development will feature 1,810 sq/m of ’informal open space’.
The planning statement continues: ’The site is within easy walking distance of school playing fields at Peel Clothworkers and Queen Elizabeth II High School which are available for use as formal open space, and the application site is of insufficient size to efficiently accommodate new formal open space within its boundaries.’
The proposal includes five affordable homes.
