Planners have given the go-ahead for a TT campsite at the Glen Mona Hotel.
Oakdale Investment Ltd had applied to install the campsite for TT and the MGP Festival of Motorcycling fortnights to house 16 tents at the rear of the pub.
In granting approval, planners have instructed the camp site can only be used three days before TT practices begin on Saturday, May 25, and then following the final days racing, it must close after a maximum of three days.
The same restriction is in place for the MGP which begins on August 17.
Buildings or facilities related to the camp site, such as toilets or showers, can only be erected seven days before each event and must be removed within seven days of them finishing.
Permission is not granted for the retention of the site between the two events.
Further conditions of approval include that the site must not encroach upon the field adjacent to the west of the garden as no permission has been sought or given for this usage.
And finally the applicant must ’within one month of this decision’ submit a scheme which shows a ’post and wire’ fence at a height of 1.1m across any opening on the west side of the garden.
This again is to ensure the adjacent field is not used for any camping purposes.
