Registered building consent is being sought (21/00828/CON) to convert Derby House in Castletown into tourist accommodation and a premises for selling food and drink.
Registered as protected in 1984, the building at Parliament Square (next to the old police station) is a former post office, and has most recently been used as commercial offices.
Under the plans, alteration and renovation works would be carried out to the internal and exterior parts of the building - turning the second and third floors into the hotel/guest house, and the basement and ground floors into areas for selling food and drink.
The accommodation would consist of four bedroom suites, each with their own en-suite bathroom and dressing facilities.
In the attic will be staff shower and toilet facilities.
