A planning application has been submitted (21/00689/C) to turn a Douglas estate agents office into a deli/cafe.

The plans are for the Lowey & Co estate agents site, on Nelson Street - neighbours of the Thirsty Pigeon pub.

The application is being made by tenant Suchada Smith.

It comes after the news was announced that estate agents Cowley Groves acquired Lowey & Co last week, and the building bears a Cowley Groves to-let sign.

The proposed use is for the sale of hot and cold drinks and food, for eating in or takeaway, and the opening times would be from 8am to 6pm Monday to Saturday.

A future planning application would be needed to erect any advertisement at the premises.

Just around the corner on Victoria Street, a planning application (21/00573/C) was recently submitted to use the Street Kitchen restaurant premises as a public house.
