Entries are being sought for this year’s Isle of Man Poetry Trail, which will see poems displayed around Douglas later in the year.

The trail takes place in the run up to Manx Litfest which is scheduled to run between September 28 and October 3.

Trail organiser Bethany De Legh-Runciman said: ’The purpose of the trail is to generate interest in the Litfest and promote poetry and literature in the Isle of Man.’

A total of 10 to 12 poems will be chosen by judges to be printed on posters and displayed around the capital at venues linked to the Litfest or at other locations that are supporting the project.

All of the poems chosen will also be published in a future issue of the Isle of Man Poetry Society magazine Manx Reflections.

Bethany added: ’There is no theme for the poems, but please keep it clean and suitable to be displayed in public.

’Entries must be type-written in a legible standard font such as Times New Roman.’

Entry forms can be found online at the IoM Poetry Trail Facebook page, emailing [email protected] or phoning/ texting 481792.

Entries cost £3.50 per poem and they must be no longer than 25 lines, excluding the title.

Deadline for entries is July 1.

The trail will run from September 15 for four weeks until mid-October.
