Just under one-third of retirements from the police force in the past three years were the result of work-related illness or injury.
The police confirmed that a total of 35 officers have retired over the past three years.
Of those, 21 were due to ill-health and, out of that number, 11 were the result of work-related ill-health.
The figures were revealed in response to a question submitted under the freedom of information rules.
In addition, the island’s constabulary confirmed the total number of officers in the force stands at 199, which is down on the 2014/15 figure of 210.
