The Isle of Man Constabulary has confirmed that British Superbike rider Storm Stacey was fined £120 and given three penalty points after his pick-up truck was seized during TT 2026.

A police spokesperson said an adult male had received an endorsable fixed penalty notice for a vehicle defect during this year’s TT.

The statement confirmed: ‘The Isle of Man Constabulary can confirm that during TT 2026, an adult male received an Endorsable Fixed Penalty Notice for a vehicle defect, resulting in a £120.00 fine and 3 penalty points.’

He said he had been stopped by an unmarked police car on Douglas promenade on Monday, June 1, shortly after arriving on the island by ferry.

The North West 200 winner claimed officers considered his Dodge Ram pick-up dangerous and unroadworthy because its wheels protruded beyond the wheel arches.

He said the vehicle was seized and later taken to the testing centre under police escort, where he claimed it underwent a four-hour examination and passed without any faults.

Stacey also described a disagreement over modifications to the wheel arches and alleged that confusion over the whereabouts of his keys delayed the process.

The rider said he had accepted that he had done something wrong, but questioned how the matter had been handled.

The Constabulary had previously confirmed that a vehicle was seized under Section 47 of the Road Traffic Act 1985 in the area of Harris Promenade, Douglas, on the evening of Monday, June 1.

It said at the time that it would not comment further because the matter was considered routine.
