The police are warning fans of the TT that a closed road is just that, whether the bikes are on them or not.

It comes after a photo surfaced of a group posing for a picture on the course by Waterworks on the Mountain Road this morning after the road had shut.

A police spokesman said: ’We want everyone to enjoy the racing and take photos however this photograph captured this morning at around 10am is something that is completely unacceptable.

’The bikes were not out at that time but other vehicles might be. Travelling Marshals , Course Inspections, Police and other services may be travelling on the roads.

’Needless to say actions such as getting photos on the track can lead to serious injuries or even the deaths of those partaking or to those in vehicles.

’As seen in recent media releases , those found or identified as entering closed roads will be arrested and will have to appear before the courts.’
