At the Celtic League’s annual general meeting, two motions from the Manx branch were backed.

The organisation, which represents all the Celtic nations, agreed unaimously to support the Manx branch’s campaign in its opposition to the training of pilots of the Royal Saudi Air Force at bases in north Wales and their use of Ronaldsway Airport.

It also backed its campaign for the Manx government to use the opportunities provided by the public ownership of the Steam Packet to strengthen sea links with Ireland and specifically the ports of Dublin and Belfast.

The meeting was held in the town gall of Carhaix-Plouguer in Brittany.
