The new leader of Douglas Council will be decided at a special meeting on Wednesday, May 6.

David Christian has been leader of the council for more than 15 years and he has not publicly indicated whether he wishes to remain in the role.

Councillors will also confirm the new chairmen and members of its committees.

The council will be reduced to 12 members after the local authority election on April 23.
