The government is to make announcements about measures connected with the coronavirus this afternoon.

A meeting of the Council of Ministers too place this morning, chaired by Chief Minister Howard Quayle MHK, in light of the developing global coronavirus pandemic.

The meeting was held to address concerns over protecting the vulnerable, while taking action over those arriving by air and sea and supporting our community, following work that took place over the weekend.

Mr Quayle said: ’We are focussing on the needs of the island and I will be making announcements this afternoon following a further meeting of the Council of Ministers. The measures being worked on are designed to ensure life can continue as normally as possible while protecting the needs of our community.’
