Sales of government property deemed surplus to requirements have netted more than £15 million over the past five years.
Treasury Minister Alfred Cannan said: ’Over the past five years, disposals of surplus properties have averaged receipts in the region of £3.2 million per annum.’
He added: ’There are a number of properties which have been declared surplus by departments and are currently being reviewed and investigated in readiness for disposal or are already being actively marketed.’
But, he declined to specify the properties and valuations due to the in potential impact on the market.
Mr Cannan was replying to a written House of Keys question that was tabled by Lawrie Hooper (LibVannin, Ramsey).
