The government will review the way it advertises tender and procurement contracts.

Policy and Reform Minister Chris Thomas said: ’We will review the way that the information about upcoming tenders is advertised and also the information, consequent to the tendering being completed and also consequent on the contracts being executed.’

He was responding to questions from Julie Edge (LibVannin, Onchan) about the policy in place for advertising tender and procurement contracts.

Mr Thomas said there was no formal policy in place for advertising such contracts.

’However, all contracts tendered by the procurement services team in the Attorney General’s Chambers are advertised online at gov.im,’ he said.

’In some cases, dependent on the instructions and requirements from departments, tenders will be advertised in local and specialist press where appropriate. I am advised that the Treasury is in the process of developing a new procurement policy, which will include guidelines for advertising.

’I understand the Treasury Minister (Alfred Cannan) will be returning to Tynwald by July 2017 regarding the development of this policy.’
