A government employee received a £369,386 exit payment when they were made redundant, it has been revealed.
Last month, the House of Keys heard that the Manx government has paid out golden goodbyes of £100,000-plus 20 times in the past five years.
Now in a reply to a follow-up Keys question from Arbory, Castletown and Malew MHK Jason Moorhouse, it has been confirmed that the highest of these exit payments was £369,386 and the lowest was £103,115.
Policy and Reform Minister Chris Thomas said both of these payments were in respect of redundancy.
The average sum paid was £156,655, and 13 of the payments were below this level, he said. The median value of the payments was £120,800.
Mr Thomas added: ’I am able to confirm that none of those who have received such payments have subsequently returned to work for the Isle of Man Government.’
The Keys were told last month that a total of 329 exit payments have been made over the past five years.
These payments were normally made when someone was made redundant, left through the mutually agreed resignation scheme (MARS) or as part of the resolution of an employment dispute.
There were nine payments of more than £100,000 made in 2014-15, one in 2015-16, three in 2016-17, two in 2017-18 and five in 2018-10.
