Letter deliveries in the island will be cut from six to five days a week from October 21.
Isle of Man Post Office said the move to weekdays-only deliveries was a ’response to reducing customer demand’.
But it said that parcels and time-guaranteed services such as special delivery and tracked items will continue to be delivered six days a week, Monday to Saturday.
Post Office chairman Julie Edge MHK said the move to five-day letter deliveries will save about £500,000 a year, helping the loss-making Post Office return to profitability by 2023-24.
She said: ’In the last 10 years, letter volumes have almost halved from 30 million to 16 million.
’Less letters means less income.’
