One of Douglas’s senior councillors has announced he’s standing again in next month’s elections.
Stephen Pitts will stand in Douglas Central on July 22.
The new Douglas Central ward will include St George’s Ward where he is currently one of the councillors.
Every seat on all 21 of the island’s local authorities is up for grabs during the election.
There are big changes in Douglas, where the number of councillors is being cut from 18 to 12 and the ward map has been redrawn to match the House of Keys constituencies.
Mr Pitts is currently the chairman of Douglas Council’s regeneration and community committee and a member of the executive committee. He was mayor from 2001-2002.
