Anyone who would like to make written submissions to the committee exploring the ongoing work on Douglas promenades has until next Monday to do so.

The Tynwald environment and infrastructure policy review committee is examining the progress of the refurbishment works, with particular reference to the recent announcement that works would now be completed in two phases, to include the impact this may have on businesses based on the Promenade.

At the sitting of Tynwald on May 12, the Minister for Infrastructure, Ray Harmer, confirmed that several changes were being made to the scope and timetable of the works in response to the circumstances caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

The changes include a delay in laying the horse tram tracks on Loch Promenade until the winter of 2022.

The committee, chaired by Clare Barber (Douglas East), is inviting written submissions from anyone who would like to comment on these recent changes to the scheme. It is particularly interested in hearing from Prom businesses and residents.

Other members of the committee include Chris Robertshaw (Douglas East) Marlene Maska MLC, Martyn Perkins (Garff) and Jane Poole-Wilson MLC.
