The Treasury will decide before Easter whether to take further the idea of a workplace pension scheme.

The scheme, to help supplement a state pension, is one possibility for dealing with concerns that young workers not saving enough towards their retirement. It was included in a consultation of the public, pension providers and employers last year.

Treasury Minister Alfred Cannan gave an update to the House of Keys this week.

’A number of responses have been received from both individuals and employers, which are currently being analysed,’ he said.

’A response detailing Treasury’s next steps and the consultation itself will be published before Easter.’
