Communication Workers’ Union boss Terry Pullinger says there is still time to avert a postal strike in the island next week.

He posted this video calling on Post Office management to agree to talks.

Mr Pullinger said the union had offered three days of intensive talks before the planned two-day strike on Thursday and Friday next week.

’If they try to negotiate properly we [can] try to avoid the need for that strike,’ he said.

But he added: ’If we meet with the same lack of movement that we’ve received from this board - no parameters, it’s a take it or leave it option they are putting on the table - if they refuse to move or refuse those talks, then we will be taking industrial action.’
