A popular beach in the south of the island has reopened.

Port Erin beach had been closed due a substance, understood to be diesel, being found in the water over the weekend.

A spokesman for the coastguard said: ’We have assessed the beach with Port Erin Commissioners and found no evidence of the fuel pollution remaining.’
